Safety information

Last updated October 15, 2026

Read this before you set up your Ticker Box, and keep it for later. Not following these instructions can cause fire, electric shock, injury or damage. It forms part of our terms of service.

Who it's for

The Ticker Box is a general-use household product designed for adults. It is not a toy, and it is not designed or intended for children 12 and under.

Power

Where to put it

Heat

The Ticker Box is a small computer that runs all the time, so it gets warm. That is normal. If it becomes too hot to touch comfortably, unplug it, let it cool, and move it somewhere with more air around it. If it keeps happening, stop using it and contact us.

Children, pets and small parts

The screen

Opening the case

Apart from the microSD card, there are no parts inside that you can service. If you replace the microSD card, unplug the Ticker Box first and follow the steps in the owner's manual exactly, taking care with the screen, its glass and its ribbon cable, and keep the old and new cards away from children and pets. Don't otherwise open the case, take the Ticker Box apart, or modify it, and never open the adapter. Opening the case can break the glass or damage parts, which can cause cuts, short circuits, overheating or fire. Anything that results, including when replacing the card, is at your own risk.

Cleaning

Unplug the Ticker Box first. Wipe it with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Don't use water, sprays, cleaning products or solvents, and don't let any liquid get inside.

If something goes wrong

Reporting a safety problem

Email support@ticker.box with “Safety” in the subject line and tell us what happened. Please keep the Ticker Box, its adapter and cable, and any loose parts, and don't try to fix them: we may ask to examine them. We look into every safety report.

Safety notices and recalls

If we learn of a safety issue with the Ticker Box, we'll email owners at the address they ordered with and post a notice on this page.

Disposal

Don't throw your Ticker Box, its adapter or its cable in household trash. Take them to an electronics recycling point in line with your local rules.
